Native Angeleno Michele Sweeney is a makeup and makeup effects artist with over ten years of working experience. Her talent with realistic effects and ability to adapt to the ever changing filming techniques keeps her in demand.

She received critical acclaim for transforming porcelain-skinned Vikings star Jessalyn Gilsig into the aged, acned and heavily made up Anna for the feature film, Somewhere Slow. Inkoo Kang of the Los Angeles Times and Jeanette Catsoulis of the New York Times both wrote of Gilsig's bravery in showing her skin for the role, not realizing her skin was a designed and executed by Sweeney. Kang also wrote, “Anna's exhaustion from keeping up appearances reveals itself through wrinkles, pimples and blemishes, and her attempts to cover them up give her a deathly, chalky pallor.” Catsoulis added, “Beneath her perky veneer and many layers of makeup, however, Anna’s skin erupts with unsightly volcanos of distress.”

Her work on the science-fiction film, The Chronicles of Hollow Earth: The Next Race was awarded “Best Makeup” from the Hollywood MiniDV Festival. She has recently Dept Headed the NewForm series Single By 30 for the YouTube Red  platform as well as the second season of I Ship It for the CW Seed.
